Soccer and/or Writing Coaches

Soccer Coach
Responsibilities:
- Plan and Implement soccer practices (10-week fall & 12-week spring seasons) for 15 poet-athletes.
- Ensure the safe arrival and departure of poet-athletes to and from game day sites.
- Assist America SCORES Cleveland Staff with field set up and take down.
- Distribute, collect, and maintain America SCORES Cleveland issued equipment.
- Have poet-athletes properly dressed (i.e. socks, shin guards, shorts, jersey).
- Abide by America SCORES Cleveland league rules, organizational guidelines, and game day schedules.
- Teach and promote teamwork, cooperation, and sportsmanship.
- Complete daily attendance forms and submit weekly to Liaison.
- Distribute snacks to children in accordance with snack distribution guidelines on soccer workshop days.
- Communicate regularly with America SCORES Cleveland staff.
- Communicate regularly with other SCORES Coaches at your school.
- Attend one writing workshop per season.
- Use the America SCORES soccer curriculum as a basis for instruction.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will be a team player who is committed to the mission of America SCORES and has experience working with youth. A Soccer Coach should have: minimum of High school diploma, must be at least 20 years old or older and have some sports experience (either as a coach or player). All coaches MUST be able to pass a background check. A Soccer Coach is required to attend America SCORES Cleveland training sessions and events (Fall Frenzy!, Poetry Slam!, and Jamboree!).
Writing Coach
Responsiblities:
- Plan and Implement writing workshops (10-week fall & 12-week spring seasons) for 15 poet-athletes.
- Submit student work (typed & emailed) to the Program Manager on or before the deadline date
- Prepare students for the Poetry Slam! and to complete their community service projects.
- Teach and promote teamwork, cooperation and sportsmanship.
- Complete daily attendance forms and submit weekly to Liaison.
- Distribute snacks to children in accordance with snack distribution guidelines on writing workshop days.
- Communicate regularly with other members of the SCORE Corps at your school.
- Communicate regularly with America SCORES Cleveland staff.
- Attend one soccer practice per season.
- Use the America SCORES Cleveland creative writing curricula as a basis for instruction.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will be a team player who is committed to the mission of America SCORES and has experience working with youth. A Writing Coach should have: minimum of 2 years of college (education degree preferred) and must be at least 20 years old or older. All coaches MUST be able to pass a background check. A Writing Coach is required to attend America SCORES Cleveland training sessions and events (Poetry Slam!, and Jamboree!).
This position pays: Per session pay is determined by school
